Ride your own wave
In life whether it be in real life or Medium or some other place on the internet you will find or get a lot of advise on how to handle/do things. This advise is pretty much always presented as the truth ‘if you do this and this then great things will happen’ or ‘you need to do these things in order to function right’. I think you understand what it is that I mean. Now, this advise is often very well meant. It comes from good hearts. But the things is, it’s not automatically the truth or the ‘only way’. Various situations in life can have tons of different solutions.
I think it’s human nature to see our way as the ‘only way’. So this is why in my opinion it’s important to question our teachers and the articles we read and filter the information carefully. We need to first make sure that this information or advice is on the same level as our aspirations and goals. If it is, great. If it’s not, forget about it. At some point in life we live our own lives and we can do what we want. We need to ride our own waves.
Sure, riding our own waves can be scary. Some people will never understand why you’re walking the route you have chosen. There will be questions asked. It will make you stand out so to say. But hey, if you’re enjoying the walk why let their doubt and critisim block your views?
Be and stay authentic and educate yourself. Do and write about things you love and feel passionate about.
It will payoff in the end!
